after ascending the stairs, a dead man in white and gold robes is revealed, laying on his back with his arms outstretched. the book’s pages have begun to rot, but the first sentence it’s open to is clearly visible.for god so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting lifethe words “should not perish” have been circled with a blue pen dozens of times, the page partially torn.
